In the small world inside my mind as a child, there was no one like Dolly Parton. No one simultaneously had the striking look and catchy country lick at the end of every word she sung. She spoke about love and country life, both of which I knew nothing about but she made it accessible to me. She was the gateway. Dixie Chicks followed, then Glen Campbell. I was singing about Ford pick-ups in my head, while sitting on the Hammersmith line. If the world of ‘Country’ was suddenly born in my mind, Dolly was the Mother.

We're often warned of a dog's bite but nothing is mentioned of their wile. Physiologically they are fine predators but the domestic dogs of the modern day sit idle with little use for their ancestral prey drive. There is less use for animalistic instinct in the 21st century but a vulnerable person and potential victim of a pyramid scheme.
