I’m almost certain, that a real cowboy, would shuffle up to me on their rugged, seasoned steed, flick their Stetson above their furrowed, sunkissed forehead and look me up and down like the imposter I am. Their nonchalance more gutting than words. On a deeper level, I think I wish I was more connected to the natural world and free to roam, a Cowboy being the perfect embodiment of my perception of both. The romance of it all, the cultural impact of every cowboy film and motif and the resonance of spirit that I wish I had. All I’ve ever wanted was to be a cowboy.
